Easy Homemade Meatloaf – Classic Comfort Food

There are certain recipes that never go out of style, and meatloaf is one of them. In our home, it is a true family favorite. Hearty, comforting, and perfect for busy weeknights or a cozy Sunday dinner, this version is simple to prepare, full of flavor, and topped with a tangy-sweet glaze that ties it all together. As a bonus, it includes a freezer-friendly option. Meatloaf is one of my favorite meals to have tucked away in the freezer, ready for a night when cooking from scratch is not in the cards.

What makes this meatloaf a classic?

  • A balance of ground beef and seasonings for tender texture and rich flavor

  • A simple glaze that caramelizes beautifully in the oven

  • Everyday pantry ingredients that come together quickly

It is a family favorite that pairs perfectly with mashed potatoes, roasted vegetables, or a crisp green salad. Leftovers make fantastic sandwiches the next day, which is always a win.

Freezer Tip

Double this recipe and freeze one for later. Shape the second loaf and place it on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Once frozen, wrap the parchment around the loaf and place it in a freezer bag. Make the glaze fresh on the day you plan to cook it.

Whether you are making this for a weeknight meal or bringing it to the table for a special occasion, this easy homemade meatloaf delivers every time. It is the kind of recipe that feels like home from the very first bite.
