Spent a few days driving throughout Vermont, south to north, east to west, and back again. The colors are beautiful all over, but amplified beyond comprehension in the kingdom. Unlike anything I’ve seen. Unlike anything most people have seen. I pulled out my camera a few times, but there was no capturing the majesty seen and felt in person. The two shots above are my feeble attempt.
Every year I find myself silenced in the hands of October. Dark mornings met with golden afternoons, quiet houses and peaceful woods. I don’t want to miss a thing and selfishly scheme ways to make it last. For a moment, I pretend to have that kind of control. It is a thrilling moment, but then the wind picks up and another tree releases its leaves. I know this will end.
Always more applesauce to be made.
There is a great workshop about to get underway, timed perfectly for autumn. I’ll be hanging out there for a couple of weeks, but will otherwise take a break from this space for a bit. I can’t seem to quit being distracted by the earthly perfection that is happening right now, and I’m not very good at doing two things at once. Enjoy the rest of October, and November, too, if I don’t see you before then. Don't forget to save some of that autumn love for November… poor girl is seriously under appreciated. Take care.
