Pumpkin spice maple syrup served with a creamy fall coffee

Pumpkin Spice Maple Syrup

A versatile fall syrup made with pure maple syrup, real pumpkin, and warm spices, perfect for coffee, pancakes, oatmeal, and more.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup pure maple syrup
  • 2 tablespoons pumpkin puree
  • 1/4 teaspoon slightly rounded pumpkin pie spice

Method

  1. Combine the maple syrup, pumpkin puree, and pumpkin pie spice in a small saucepan.
  2. Set over medium-high heat and warm, whisking frequently, just until the mixture reaches the boiling point.
  3. Reduce the heat to medium-low and continue whisking for 2–3 minutes, until the pumpkin is fully incorporated and the syrup is smooth.
  4. Watch carefully, as maple syrup can foam and boil over quickly.
  5. Remove from the heat and allow to cool slightly before transferring to a clean jar.
  6. Refrigerate and shake or stir before using.

Notes

Refrigerate for up to two weeks. For longer storage, freeze in small freezer-safe portions, leaving appropriate headspace for slight expansion. Thaw in the refrigerator and stir or shake well before using.
